Miami Boat Show Feb 2012
With a successful summer of boat sales behind them the owners of JV Marine World John and Vicki Stav took a trip to the Miami Boat show to see how the US was preparing for their summer season. They also took the time to catch up with the team from Four Winns who showed them some new models they have just released, So impressed were they by the new V275 Cruiser and the S215 Sport boat that John ordered one of each on the spot! We will have these at the Melbourne Boat Show in July and already there is strong interest in both models. The general feeling at the show was very positive with manufacturers reporting strong sales and the members of the public and other dealers that John and Vicky spoke to were confident that things were on the improve. Back here in Australia we too have noticed this with new stock out of the US being harder to get, one good example of this is the new Kawasaki 300 Jet Ski, demand is so strong in the Northern Hemisphere that we can't get any until Oct this year. After a week in Miami they flew to LA and spent a few days checking out the local boating scene there getting the same sort of feedback as they got in Miami.

Fishing Scene
The incredible run of Snapper this season has slowed up as is normal for this time of year however Steve Mcviegh (Pude) From BCF Braeside is still reporting good size fish in the Southern reaches of Port Phillip and large numbers of both Whiting and Gummy shark being caught in both bays. Some large sharks have been caught out in Bass Straight and some small Tuna have been spotted off Portland, which bodes well for a full on winter season there.
If you are thinking of going to have a crack at these mighty fish we suggest you start booking now (both accommodation and Charter boats)
